On Tuesday 30 April, Central President Michael Grandage, hosted a fundraising event alongside the Grandage’s production of Peter and Alice by John Logan, with Ben Whishaw and Central alumna Judi Dench. Through this event, Central raised over £30,000 towards the Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to 15 students from the 2013 intake.
This event will kick start a wider campaign by Central to continue to provide long term assistance to students unable to afford tuition fees. Michael Grandage said, "This special performance of Peter and Alice marks Central's continuing commitment to raise funds to help students with their education. The event brings together many Central alumni, all of whom are dedicated to helping provide scholarships for the future."

With high costs of training and scheduled Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) cuts, Central is committed to securing funds for student scholarships so that they may continue to nurture and develop the best talent and extend their scholarship funds to as many students as possible. Safeguarding these funds will enable Central to continue to recruit and retain the best students, secured by merit and successful study, rather than their ability to pay.

'Training at Central provided me the skills and confidence I needed at the beginning of my career - without those two things, it would not have been filled with so many wonderful opportunities,” said Judi Dench. The aim of this fundraising initiative is to build Central’s Scholarship Fund year-on-year so that we are able to provide scholarships for up to a quarter of our student body in the next five years.
Ben Whishaw and Dame Judi Dench have been mobbed after the "Peter and Alice" play by fans seeking autographs and photos.
(smiling) Wait! don't watch the videos yet. Here's a (NEW) photo of Ben Whishaw from Luxx Magazine.
